UMC Children's Hospital/Children's Miracle Network
The UMC Children's Hospital is a proud partner of Children's Miracle Network that provides state-of-the-art medical technology and comprehensive services to the children of the South Plains and Eastern New Mexico. The UMC Children's Hospital is the only Children's Burn Intensive Care Unit in the region and leads the region in trauma services. They also have a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that is licensed for 40 beds.
Hope Lodge
Breaking ground in April 2009 and opening in 2010, The Lubbock Hope Lodge will offer a home away from home for thousands of cancer patients and their caregivers who travel to Lubbock each year from surrounding communities. In addition to offering lodging throughout their treatment at no charge, the Hope Lodge also offers emotional support to patients and their families in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Free Clinic offered by Lubbock Impact, Inc. and TTUHSC
Beginning in 2009, Lubbock Impact has strived to meet the medical needs of the underserved in Lubbock. Thanks to volunteer medical students and doctors, the clinic provides comprehensive primary care with doctor visits, free prescriptions and over the counter medications. Patients are educated on their state of health, receiving the necessary information to help cope with a diagnosis and implement healthy practices for the future. Patients are also guided through the process of applying for services such as SCHIP, Medicaid and Blue Card.
Children's Home of Lubbock
The Children's Home of Lubbock is a residential care facility for children unable to live with their families of origin because of abuse and neglect. Through generous donations, the Children's Home of Lubbock shows the previously abused children that they have worth and potential. Children at the home are encouraged to pursue higher education, to develop a strong work ethic, and to believe in their own abilities. Most importantly they are given the love and support they need to foster a healthy and happy future.
