The
12th Annual Lubbock City Lights Charity Ball & The 5th Annual Golf
Tournament Presented
by The Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center
School of Medicine
Since
1997, the first year medical class of the Texas Tech University Health
Sciences Center, in conjunction with the community of Lubbock, has been
proud to host the City Lights Charity Ball. To date, this event
has helped to raise over $195,000 directly benefiting Lubbock area charities.
We are also proud to be hosting the
5th
Annual City Light Golf Tournament this year. This year
someone could win
a motorcycle or a Cadillac from Alderson’s Luxury Car dealership.
City
Lights is a charity event sponsored by the first year medical students of
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. This
year's events consist of a 4-person Golf scramble and poker tournament held
at Meadowbrook Golf Course on April 18th
2008 and a gala and auction to be held on
April 19th 2008 at the Holiday
Inn Towers on Avenue Q.
Charity Ball: The 12th
annual City Lights Charity Ball will be held on
April 19th 2008 at the Holiday Inn Towers on Avenue
Q. The Ball will consist of drinks, dinner, live music, and dancing.
We will also be auctioning off many great items during the event.
Golf
Tournament: The 4th annual City Lights golf tournament will
be held on April 18th 2008 at
Meadowbrook Golf Course. The tournament is a four-man scramble with
long-drive and closest to the pin contests. There will be great prizes for
the top finishers, as well as the possibility of winning a motorcycle if you
hit a hole-in-one. We will also be having a 50 person poker tournament with
great prizes following the golf scramble. These tournaments will fill up
fast so get your entry in soon.
Charities: Proceeds from the Charity Ball and the
Golf Tournament will benefit the UMC Child Life Services and
the Lubbock Children's Health Clinic. Child Life Services
assists in making children’s hospital stays as easy as possible. Lubbock
Children’s Health Clinic provides healthcare to the underserved children of
Lubbock County who would otherwise be unable to afford proper medical
attention. Our donation would help to provide the educational materials and
tools Child Life needs to continue their vital work as well as to purchase
some long needed equipment so the Health Clinic may continue to provide
proper healthcare to disadvantaged children.
